Your first website.
Your first headlines.
Follow these steps in the SourceNews Windows app. All you need to begin is a public website or feed address.
Choose a public website or feed.
Open the website you want to follow and copy its full address from your browser. If the publisher offers an RSS or Atom feed, you can use that feed address instead.You are adding the website's address to SourceNews. There is no website file to upload.
Open Add website.
In SourceNews, click Add website on Overview. You can also open the Sources tab and click Add website there.A new installation starts empty. Your collection begins with the sources you choose.
Enter the source details.
In Add website or feed, fill in:
- Public website or feed URL
- Paste the full address you copied.
- Source name
- Give the source a name you will recognize.
- Refresh interval (60–86400 seconds)
- Keep 300 for a scan every five minutes, or choose another interval in the allowed range.
A shorter interval does not guarantee new articles. Respect the publisher's access and usage rules.
Preview, then save your source.
Click Preview URL to check what SourceNews can read. To start collecting automatically, select Enable automatic collection, then click Save source.If you leave automatic collection unchecked, the source is saved as Paused. Previewing alone does not save it.
Enable collection and run a scan.
Open Sources and select your website. If Collection says Paused, click Pause / resume. Once it says Enabled, click Scan selected. Use Scan enabled to request scans for all enabled sources.Select the source to read its latest collection error. Healthy means a scan succeeded; there may still be no new articles.
Read your headlines.
Open Headlines, select an article, and use Open original article to visit the publisher. Keep SourceNews open for automatic collection at your chosen interval.If articles appear to be missing, clear the search, choose All sources, and turn off Watch matches only.
